“Knowing our Clients and Compliance with Regulations are a pillar to our policies”

LockThe Federal government recently expanded its anti-money laundering efforts by enacting the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing) Act (the “Act”). The first parts of this legislation came into force on November 8, 2001, and such legislation is constantly being reviewed and updated.

Unicash Mercantile has always been committed to assisting and strictly complying with all anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing provisions of the Act, as set out by the Financial Transactions and Report Analysis Center of Canada (FINTRAC).

Confidentiality and client protection are part of our priorities. As part of the compliance regime, Unicash Mercantile requires proper client identification records, and compliance with the verification requirements of the Act, as well as all other reporting provisions.
